Kingdom Twelfth Night AS L

The incipient Shire of Midland Vale invites one and all to brave the winter’s chill on Saturday, January 16th and rejoice in their Majesties’ Twelfth Night festivities! A splendid day is planned for gentles young and old, There will be an Arts & Sciences display, with each entrant competing for the Populace Choice award. Children’s activities are planned. Lightning-fast portrait painting will be offered. A traditional Boar’s Head Feast is being prepared, with music and dancing to round out a wonderful day. There is space for merchants as well. Come one, come all!

Arts & Science Display/Populace Choice Competition

Their Royal Majesties and the Shire of Midland Vale would like to invite the Artisans of the East to show their amazing and beauteous works to all the populace this Twelfth Night.

Entries in our Arts and Science Display should be in place by 11 a.m.

Index cards and writing implements will be provided. Entries should include the entrant’s name and a description of their piece including any relevant details.

All Twelfth Night attendees will be given a special token at gate. Vote for your favorites at the display tables, and help an artisan win the Populace Choice Award!

Official judging will take place between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Children’s Activities

A full day’s worth of children’s activities is being planned by Baroness Wentlyanna Bengrek, designed to delight the young members of our glorious Populace.

The Kid’s Service Initiative will also be in play during the day. Details available at Gate.

Lightning-Fast Portrait Painting

Baroness Cateline La Broderesse will offer her skilled and gifted talents in the fine art of lightning-fast portrait painting. You will want to capture a memory of this splendid occasion to be preserved for all time.

Boar’s Head Feast

Our head cook, the esteemed Lord Alasdair Campbell, is preparing a full Boar’s Head Feast, to be served with all the pomp and pageantry of holiday seasons of old. See the boar’s head borne in procession to their Majesties, and partake of delicacies to delight every taste.

In addition, Lady Rifka the Gypsy will prepare a sumptuous dayboard for all to enjoy.

Dancing

Following the feast, members of the renowned Bhakaili Branslers will accompany an evening of dancing, led by Master Philip White.

Those who do not wish to partake of the feast are still welcome, with a valid site token, to rejoin us for dancing.

From I-84, take your best route to exit 4E near Middletown, NY.  Take exit 4E onto route 17 East to exit 122A.  From the ramp, turn left.  At the end of this short road you will see the school in front of you. turn left and then right to enter the parking lot.
From the NY state Thruway I-87, take exit 16 to route 17 West.  Follow route 17 West to exit 122A.  From the ramp, turn right.  At the end of this short road you will see the school in front of you. turn left and then right to enter the parking lot.
From route I-86 / route 17 west of Orange County, take route 17 East 17 East to exit 122A.  From the ramp, turn left.  At the end of this short road you will see the school in front of you. turn left and then right to enter the parking lot.

Event Fees:

Site: $18 and includes the Dayboard.
Age 11-18: $5
Age 10 and under: Free
Additional $5 adult non-member surcharge applies.
Feast: $12 additional for all ages.

The feast is limited to 100 people so please be sure to preregister by December 31st.
